The weekend at last

There are lots of family friendly events to do this weekend!

The Big Read events featuring "Our Town" continue this weekend at Foothills Performing Art Center, 24 Market St. in Oneonta.

The place to go this weekend is Hanford Mills Museum, for the Saw It! event, Saturday, May 1 from 10am-5pm.Lumberjack skills The event features woodworking demos, live music, mill tours, children's activities, tree walks and more. Children under 12 and museum members free, $8.50 adults & teens, $6.50 seniors. Ask for AAA and military discounts. www.hanfordmills.org

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run is also on Sat, 11am - 3pm at Damaschke Field.

Sat 9am Great Strides Walk (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation) at Neahwa Park, Oneonta.

The Catskill Symphony presents: Choral Concert featuring Poulenc's "Stabat Mater" on Sat at 8pm, in SUNY Oneonta's Hunt Union Ballroom.

Sun 9am Open MS Walk at Neahwa Park, Oneonta.

On Sunday May 2nd, 7pm Wishing Chair & Meg Barnhouse perform at 12 Ford Ave, sponsored by Unitarian Universalist Society of Oneonta

Weekend events

Spring is here, bringing unpredictable weather and often as not, a bit of warm, wonderful sunshine. There are plenty of great activities for the weekend. I shall be planting yard long green beans - that is to say, bean plants that produce yard long beans. It promises to be a wonderful summer!

Relay for Life is Sat April 24th at SUNY Oneonta's Alumni Field House.

Sat, 8am-noon: celebrate Earth Day and recycle your old computer without paying a fee http://www.DKRecycling.com.

OH Fest is Sat 1-5pm on Main Street and in Neahwa Park, with a concert at 6pm in Neahwa Park.

Sun April 25th 3:30pm: Benefit concert for Oneonta food pantries and feeding programs, featuring Sweet Adelines, Catskill Chamber Singers, Redeeming Love, Just Throw Money and the Roundhouse Rockers. All performing at 66 Chestnut St.

The weekend is upon us

30% chance of snow?

It's hard to believe, after a beautiful day like today, that we were ice skating in Fortin Park just weeks ago. This being spring in Upstate NY however, there is a 30% chance of snow for the weekend! It'll be a fun one anyway:
