Another weekend

The Cherry Valley International Kite Festival is Fri and Sat, Sept 17th and 18th. The all day out door fly is Sat 10am - 5pm, with Precision Team Flying by the Rev Riders and Rokkaku Battle. A kid's kite building workshop is at 9am on Sat ($5 for materials). Indoor kite fly is at 7pm ($3). Details at http://www.cvartworks.org/artworks_event_KiteFestival10.html.

The Harvest Festival at the Farmer's museum is this Sat, Sept 18, 10am-5pm, with live music on from 6-8pm. Dozens of alpaca will be on site and there will be horse-drawn wagon rides, historic games, and craft activities. Admission: $12 adults (13+), $10.50 seniors (65+), $6 children (7-12), children 6 and under and members of the New York State Historical Association are free. www.farmersmuseum.org

Applefest is Sat and Sun at the Fly Creek Cider Mill. $2 admission, featuring games, live music, antique tractors, food, apples and more! All proceeds to benefit Rotary which distributes the funds amongst local charities. www.flycreekcidermill.com

Looking Ahead:

Pit Run Sunday Oct 3rd: OWL will be providing children's crafts and educational activities in the morning during this event, in Neahwa Park, Oneonta.

Science Saturday Oct 16th, featuring Professor Snape's Potions, will be presented by OWL and the Science Discovery Center at SUNY Oneonta. Open activities will be provided throughout. Workshop registration will be available at OneontaWorldOfLearning.org as the event nears.

Hogwarts and Hartwick Sat Oct 30th: Sorting Hat Seating at 4pm followed by feasting, music, costume contest and door prizes. For the young and the young at heart. Make Your Reservations now, $8, youth (16 and under) $10, (over 16), call (607) 432-4102. Proceeds benefit Oneonta World of Learning (OWL). Menu: Chicken Tenders, Drumsticks, Veggies, Dinner Rolls, Pumpkin Bars with Whipped Cream, and Apple Cider or Water. Magical music provided by Hartwick College Chamber Music Ensembles.
