TGIF

Friday Sept 25th, the Oneonta concert series kicks off with some classical music at 8pm (be early) at the First United Methodist church in Oneonta. Details are here. I should add (from experience) that quiet children are more than welcome, noisy children less so, at these events. Yeah.

Sat and Sun Sept 26-27 from 1-4pm, the Bullthistle Model Railroad Society Inc. Museum (33 Rexford Street in Norwich) will be open. Also open by appointment, call 334-4522.

The Springbrook Rubber Duck Derby & Family Fest is Sat Sept 26th at Fortin Park, Oneonta (across the the Interstate from Price Chopper's), 10am-4pm. Adopt a "duck" and get in on the fun. Music, games, food and $1000 to the first prize winner!

Stamford’s Annual Scarecrow Festival is Sunday September 27th, 2009, 10 am to 4 pm in downtown Stamford, Rain Date Sunday October 4, 2009.

Also Sat, stop by the Oneonta Farmer's Market for the harvest festival from 9am-2pm.

The Oktoberfest train, sponsered by the Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad departs the Milford Train Depot on Sat.

Sat 8pm in Oxford, NY there will be a bluegrass concert. Details are here.

Sat at 4pm, Charlotte Blake Alston performs at the Earlville Opera House.

Sunday, September 27th: MURAL & RAG To Co-Sponsor at ART EXHIBIT & YOUTH ART LESSONS.

Looking ahead:

Still hoping for more donations of paper towel tubes, toilet paper tubes and cereal boxes for racing and marble track crafts during the Pit Run, Sunday, October 4th. Maybe we can arrange a drop off location in Oneonta, closer to the event.

Be sure to visit the Hanford Mills Museum before it closes for the season. They are really just outside of town, and as a working, historic farm, they offer a lot of hands on experiences. You have until Oct. 15th.
