Weekend events

The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival continues this Friday, Aug 13th, when Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano perform the American Songbook at the Otesaga Resort Hotel. Showtime is 7:30pm.

The City of the Hills Arts Festival takes over downtown Oneonta this Saturday, Aug 14th, from 10am - 4pm. Let's get out and support our local arts association. You'll be glad you did. www.uccca.com/specialevents.htm

Stallions football is back! They take on the Ice Storm at Hartwick College (Wright Stadium), Sat. Aug 14th at 7:30pm. www.nystallions.com

Looking Ahead:

Monday Aug 16th: The Florence High Memorial Chamber Music Concert will be at the Pierstown Grange (Cooperstown), starting at 7:30pm. Musicians from the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra and guests will perform, featuring music of Mozart, Barber and a klezmer ensemble. Free and open to the public.

Also on Monday, at 1pm, the Sidney Memorial Public Library will present Flipper, as the last of their Movies on Mondays summer series. No need to sign-up just show up for some fun.

On Tuesdays in August, head to Lakefront Park in Cooperstown for a free concert.

Drop in for Family Entertainment at the Sidney Memorial Public Library: On Wed, Aug. 18th at 6:30pm, "Buffalo and Brandy" will present a high energy magical/musical show. Family friendly and free. Call 563-1200 for info.

Thursdays in August at Hanford Mills Museum: This week's activitiy features a tour of the Hanford House, which recreates home life in the 1920s. Children will make their own checker/draughts game board. For ages 5-7. No registration required. $6 for members, $7.50 for nonmembers. Visit www.hanfordmills.org or call 607-278-5744.
