The weekend

Spring is here! The beaver pond out back is noisy with the sound of geese as of yesterday, and the red wing black birds have been in our neighborhood for a week now. The boys even found a little woolly caterpillar out and about, enjoying the spring air.

There are some great events for older children going on this weekend.

Fri Mar 19th and again on Sat Mar 20th: March Madness Dessert Theatre with The Little Victory Players, 7:30pm at UU Church, 12 Ford Ave, Oneonta $15/adult, $8/student. Info: 433-2089, dfriedell@stny.rr.com

Friday at 7:30pm: Concert In Memory of Alfred Gallodoro at Hartwick College. To benefit Gallodoro Scholarship Program. Free admission. Info: 431-4800, chmusic2me@yahoo.com. This will be a great show.

Every Sunday in March and Easter Sunday: Sugaring Off at The Farmer's Museum in Cooperstown! Ride the carousel, enjoy a pancake breakfast, see first hand how maple sugar is made and taste some maple sugar candy, fresh from the pot. http://www.farmersmuseum.org/

While you're downtown in Oneonta, stop by the Main View Gallery to see their latest exhibit 'Main Characters,' which runs through the weekend.

Looking ahead:

Bounce Around the World at the Crayon Carnival & Stroll of Nations, March 27, 11am - 3pm at the Cooperstown Middle/High School Gym. Presented by the Cooperstown PTO.

Mark your calendar for Books Alive! an interactive concert for kids, Sat April 10th. Details will be posted at OneontaWorldOfLearning.org.
